I’ve taken way too long to write the next episode in my saga. Selfishly, I wanted to capture the extremes of the joy, sadness, and newfound happiness of a roller coaster romance reshaped into a beautiful friendship. But the words didn’t come. I lack the skill to keep drama from being melodrama, or produce a reaction of respect and not disdain.

What’s Love Got To Do With It?

Damn, it’s taken me forever to get a handle on this.

I already talked ’bout how I don’t really like girls the way other guys do, and how I kinda like guys. But so what? What’s the big deal? If that’s all there was to it, I could just get a job as a professional wrestler or something. But I know there’s more, cuz I can see it whenever my brother and his boyfriend Danny get together, there’s a special way they interact. Or like when Toby’s DJing and his boyfriend shows up, Toby just gets this huge smile and you can hear in his voice, see in his eyes how happy he is. And I have some other friends who are kinda inseparable, and when they’re not together, there are some things that they won’t do without each other. I think straight people are the same way. There’s just something special. It’s love.

Shakes and Pix got caught breaking curfew, and must have been arrested cuz they’re in a portable jail on the beach.

Our dads are gonna be furious.  Of course, Shakes might be a bit annoyed at the guy who turned them in.

It just ain’t fair

I dunno why Shakes is complaining. He’s the one who started it, and later on used the f-word, cut a class, went to play practice after being told not to, and then didn’t come home. All I did was defend myself, and even fessed up - granted it was a week later, but I coulda gotten away without saying anything.

But I got pretty much the same punishment as he did.

It ain’t fair.
